Sunny

I had the pleasure of shooting a maternity session with my cousin this weekend. This isn't really a maternity type of shot, but it was my favorite from the session.

Namaste

I was truly honored when one of my favorite yoga teachers contacted me to schedule a shoot. Cindy is an amazing teacher and I always come into her classes excited as well as nervous. Sounds, odd, but let me explain. When her word of the day, presented at the beginning of class is something like 'community' I'm excited. When her word of the day is something akin to 'stamina' I get nervous. Still excited, but I know I'm going to get my behind kicked in class. Her classes are challenging, but playful and I appreciate her dedication to both yoga as well as her students. I only shot one frame of film at the end of our shoot, but I'm glad I did as it is easily my favorite shot of the day.

Up & Running

It feels good to be back on the blog again. The new website is up and running! Please stop by and check it out. For today, just one picture.

I got to work with off-camera lighting in my pop-up studio (aka, a very cold, crowded garage)  a couple weeks ago and had a blast doing it.  It was especially exciting to get my film back and find this shot. I know I'm biased, but I liked it better than any of the digital shots that night. Thanks to Karolynh for modeling for me!

On a Saturday Afternoon in the Sunset Junction

Food+Lab on Sunset.

A funny shirt (pardon the profanity).

Just a person whose style I liked and asked to take a picture of...wow, bad grammar.

Portra 400...meh. I heart Fuji.

Jamie & Elsie - Silverlake

I was digging in my computer and found this. Love the colors. Love the people.

Last Shots - Long Beach

This is what happens when you're on the way to the lab and all you have left is three shots.
Shooting young strangers is fun. :)

Behind the Scenes - Echo Park

Last spring (wow, time flies) I had the privilege of shooting behind-the-scenes footage of a music video. The artist is in the last picture. His name is Bambu and the video is called Old Man Raps, filmed by Kid Heroes Productions. Click HERE to watch it.

Coincidentally, this was the same day I decided I wanted to run a marathon.

Alpha & Ray - Long Beach

It's been so long since I've blogged that blogger updated their uploading page! I promise there will be more after I run this marathon. Thanks to all who donated. Only 10 more days!

Congrats to Ray on finishing his first half marathon!

Team In Training - Lakewood

Team In Training is the group I've been running with for the last couple months. Above are some pictures from our 12 mile run a couple weekends ago. The last picture is of our honored teammate, Alyssa. She's battling Leukemia and as a result of her treatments she has become blind. She was at this training run and that's when I got to meet her. Truly an inspiration.

Thanks to all who donated to help Alyssa and others fight blood cancers.

Vietnamese Food, Bikes & the Birdman - Huntington Beach

Yummy food, a 10 mile bike ride and seeing an NBA player at the US Open of Surfing...what a great summer Friday.

Katrina - Glassell Park, Eagle Rock

A last minute photo shoot for my niece, Katrina who needed photos for potential modeling. :)

I had fun hanging out with these two. We shot a roll in less than 20 minutes then dropped off the film at Walgreens to get them done fast. So, if the scans look a little shoddy, you know why. But, I must say that I'm surprised that Walgreens did an okay job.

I can't believe they're both in college. I've watched them grow up! I love 'em.
